LAKEWOOD. This incredibly difficult course has even the best players shaking their heads. Measuring over 7600 yards from the tips, a number of par-4's are hard to reach in two, even if you hit a good drive. Greens are on the verge of unfair since they all contain severe breaks and multiple tiers. If you want a challenge, this men's-only club is the course for you.

CASTLE ROCK. Featuring tight, tree-lined fairways, this beautiful course is long and demanding. Located at the base of the mountains, it features a number of hilly fairways and tiered greens. With several long carries over water required to reach the green, you'll need to hit your fairway woods and long irons well to score.

ENGLEWOOD. Host site of several US Opens, this championship course features small, quick greens surrounded by troublesome terrain. Hit these greens in regulation and you will have a good look at birdie, but that's easier said than done. With a thick tree line to contend with, many tee shots will be followed by punch outs or knock-down shots to get out of trouble.

CASTLE ROCK. This beautiful course contains fairways surrounded by harsh rough that reminds you why you should hit the fairway off the tee. With an excellent variety of holes, both in length and design, this course forces you to hit every club in your bag. As with most courses in the region, these fairways are not level, so awkward lies for approach shots are just one more thing to consider.

CHERRY CREEK. This classic course continues to provide an outstanding setting for golfers. The oldest course in Colorado, this course features tree lined fairways and smallish greens. While length is somewhat of a factor, you must hit these fairways if you want to score well. You will find several fairway bunkers in the landing areas and a number of greenside bunkers protecting these putting surfaces.
